As protests continue in Iran, people in 150 different cities around the world, including various Canadian cities, marched on October 1st in solidarity with the Iranian people.
From Vancouver to Halifax, tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Canada. In Richmond Hill, Ontario marchers poured onto Young Street, holding slogans such as “Woman, Life, Freedom”, “Free Iran” and “Death to the Dictator”. The organizers announced that more than 50,000 people participated in the rally in Richmond Hill.
In Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and many other cities, thousands marched in the streets and demanded justice. Participants in the Vancouver rally formed a human chain from the Vancouver Art Gallery to Stanley Park to show their solidarity with the Iranian people. People chanted against the Islamic Republic and called for freedom and human rights in Iran.
Washington DC, London, Edinburgh, Santiago (Chile), Tokyo, Rome, Paris, Rennes, Melbourne, Sydney, Stockholm and many other cities around the world witnessed solidarity events as well.
