PACIFIC OCEAN (July 20, 2012) The Royal New Zealand Navy fleet oiler HMNZS Endeavour (A11), center, refuels the Royal New Zealand Navy frigate HMNZS Te Kaha (F77), left, and the Republic of Korean destroyer ROKS Choi Young (DDH 981). Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in the biennial RIMPAC exercise from June 29 to Aug. 3, in and around the Hawaiian Islands. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. علیرضا تنگسیری فرمانده نیروی دریایی سپاه پاسداران هشدار داد ایران در برابر هر شرکتی که نفت ایران را از نفتکش توقیف‌شده تخلیه کند، موضعی تلافی‌جویانه در پیش خواهد گرفت و تاکید کرد تهران به‌طور مستقیم واشنگتن را مسئول صدور مجوز تخلیه بار نفتکش می‌داند.
منابع آگاه رویترز که به‌خاطر حساسیت موضوع از افشای هویت‌شان خودداری کرده‌اند، به این خبرگزاری گفته‌اند واشنگتن کنترل محموله نفتی نفتکش «سوئز راجان» جزایر مارشال را پس از اطمینان از دستور دادگاه پیشین به‌دست گرفته است.
اطلاعات ردیابی کشتی نشان می‌دهد آخرین موقعیت گزارش‌شده نفتکش ۲۲ آوریل امسال نزدیکی جنوب آفریقا بوده است.
