Former Ontario Premier and current MPP Kathleen Wynne reacted to Reza Moridi’s recent decision to endorse Conservatives in Richmond Hill. In part of her response, Kathleen Wynne said:

“As you know, Reza Moridi has been a trusted colleague of mine for a number of years. Having said that, Reza is no longer a member of the provincial legislature nor does he speak for the Liberal Party.”

Liberal MPP and Ontario Liberal leadership candidate Michael Coteau has officially endorsed Majid Jowhari. In his brief statement Mr. Coteau said:

“It is my pleasure to endorse Majid Jowhari and the great work that he has done around mental health, and in his community of Richmond Hill. He is exactly the type of elected representative we need to champion the tough issues in Ottawa.”

Ontario Liberal leadership Candidate Alvin Tedjo has also issued a statement expressing his disappointment over Moridi’s decision to endorse the Conservatives.

“I am so deeply disappointed to learn that in this election he has chosen to endorse a candidate for a party that is fighting against real action on climate change and proposing to gut public services for Canadians” Alvin Tedjo said in his statement.

Mitzie Hunter, Liberal MPP and Ontario Liberal leadership Candidate, also reacted to Moridi’s endorsement of the Conservatives and said:

“What makes Canada such a great country to live in is we all have freedom of choice. As for me, I have always been committed to liberal values, the Ontario Liberal Party and the Liberal Party of Canada and I support all duly nominated Liberal candidates that are running in the upcoming federal election, including Majid Jowhari.”

After former Liberal MPP and Ontario Minister Reza Moridi publicly announced his endorsement for the Conservatives, a group of 100 Liberal members and supporters sent a letter addressed to the Ontario Liberal party requesting the party leadership to publicly reject Moridi’s endorsement.
